Sears Tower is a 527 meter (1,730 feet) high, 442 m (1,451 ft) without the two antennas, skyscraper located at 233 South Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL. It has been the tallest building in the world since 1973 to 1998, claiming this title from the World Trade Center and loosing to Petronas Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 25 years later.
Sears Tower was build in little over two years at a cost of about US$150 million paid in full by Sears, Roebuck & Co.
One of the main tourist attractions of Chicago, the Sears Tower Skydeck, is located 412 m (1,353 feet) on the 103rd floor. On a windy day visitors can experience the building swaying.
