The Hollywood Sign is a well-known landmark in the Hollywood Hills in LA, CA. First put out in 1923 as an advertisement, the 15 meter (50 feet) high sign earned much recognition and a permanent place in the Los Angeles landscape. Originally it spelled "HOLLYWOODLAND", now just "HOLLYWOOD".
